International Sanskrit Examination Resource

Why do students study for IGCSE® Sanskrit exams?

Sanskrit language, and its treasured heritage, is relevant to modern students in India as well as those in the rest of the world. The Cambridge examinations provide for students attracted to an intellectual challenge and who are curious to uncover timeless wisdom for themselves rather than simply rely on translations.

The syllabus is special in that it includes philosophic and cultural content which appeals to students of all subjects - sciences, maths, arts and humanities. Students are able to read the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hitopadesha, in the original, at IGCSE level.

Cambridge qualifications are valid towards university admission in India and world-wide.

2019:  The new Cambridge Sanskrit IGCSE® examination will be held in May/June 2019.  There will be one examination covering all levels of ability and it will consist of two papers.

These examinations are available to all schools world-wide.  Students are encouraged to start study in 2017 to be ready for 2019!
