About A Level Exams

This examination has now been discontinued. Please refer to the side menu for the new 'Higher Level (Post IGCSE) Examination.

The A Level is normally studied after the AS Level and is suitable for ages 17+

The grammar content is based principally upon that of IGCSE Level with a few additions, however knowledge of the grammar and its application is expected to be thoroughly established and it is used in a significantly more sophisticated manner in set texts and language translation.

Vocabulary is expanded further at this level and the set texts help to widen and develop the student's experience of Sanskrit literature.  There is no defined vocabulary, and the AS Level vocabulary, as well as the literature experience, will give a good idea of what might be expected.

2019 is the last examination for Sanskrit at A Level.
